                                     Rothman - The Lawyer

Barry Rothman was the attorney that represented Dr. Evan Chandler,
the father of the 13-year old boy that accused Michael Jackson of child
molestation. I came to work for him as an in dependent contractor-
legal secretary during the summer of 1993. Mr. Rothman was a well-
known entertainment attorney in Century City, California. He
represented and negotiated music and concert deals for many very
famous rock groups and even some legends of the music industry. The
decor of Mr. Rothman's office was filled with gold and platinum
records hanging on the walls. Mr. Rothman is very distinguished in his
appearance, very well dressed and has salt-and-pepper hair. At the time
I worked for him he drove a 1977 Rolls-Royce Corniche.
If, however, you walked behind the scenes of Mr. Rothman's
office, you will find a different person altogether. According to
an article written by Mary Fisher of GQ in 1994, "Rothman has a
reputation for stiffing people." He was considered a professional
deadbeat who pays no one. Professionally, he has received
repeated disciplinary actions by the State Bar.
For security reasons his office is set up like Fort Knox. No one
can just walk into his office and gain access to him from the
outside. He always entered his office with extreme caution.
During the Michael Jackson child molestation allegations, he
would always call the office before arriving to see if anything
unusual was going on before he arrived. It was as if he
