the child molestation allegations made against Michael Jack-
son. They interrogated his past, present and then current em-
ployees and traveled out of the country to investigate former
employees regarding their statements that they witnessed in-
appropriate behavior by Michael Jackson with young children.
After thousands of dollars were spent trying to indict Michael
Jackson, no credible evidence was found to corroborate the
charge of child molestation against him.
Dozens of children were interviewed, even the friends
the children that knew Michael Jackson were interviewed. S.ill,
no indictment of child molestation was made. It quickly be-
came obvious that the same resources that went into trying to
find evidence against Michael Jackson were not used to inves-
tigate the extortion allegations that would have cleared his
name.
Michael Jackson has been the victim of unwanted public
scrutiny without any evidence or proof for many years. When
the child molestation allegations surfaced against him, the
public seemed relieved to finally have something credible in-
stead of giving him the benefit of the doubt, or even the ben-
efit of his rights provided by the Constitution of the United
States. The only justification that the media could find was that
in their opinion, "it isn't normal for a 35-year old male adult to
spend so much time with children or to sleep with them." That
statement was mere speculation. It does not prove guilt nor
invalidate his innocence. Our tainted untrusting world seems
to have difficulty understanding pure and simple love. Michael
Jackson repeatedly voiced his love, admiration and affection
for the innocence of children, reliving a childhood that he him-
self missed out on. How many of us know men and women
who are still living out their childhood well into their 40's,
50's and even 60's. Just going to an amusement park and get-
ting on frightening roller-coasters is our way of reliving the
fearless days of childhood. Why is it difficult for us to com-
prehend that a person who is restricted in his ability to mingle
and interact with adult human beings in public on a daily ba-
