Director of EMS
As a Director your have ultimate authority over all clinical and patient care aspects of the
EMS. You should be engaged in the education, training activities, protocol, policy development,
quality improvement activities, liaison, and corrective actions related to patient care. To ensure
overall operational performance and the organizing needed to meet goals and overall
expectations of their department. To provide general management and top-level leadership. In
addition you are responsible for assisting in training.
Deputy Chief
As a Deputy Chief you plan, direct, and coordinate the work of subordinates by
supervising EMT, AEMT, Paramedics, and non-credentialed personnel. They are involved in
administration, human resources, clinical affairs, and quality management. Work to ensure daily
operations have all the resources needed in order to run smoothly. In addition you are responsible
for assisting in training.
