Essay

                         1. Does the introduction draw the reader in and give any
                             necessary background?

                         2. Does the thesis state or hint at a definition?

                         3. Does the topic sentence of each body paragraph direct

the reader’s attention to a particular aspect of the

                             concept being defined?
                         4. Do the details in each body paragraph support the

                             definition through example or description?

                         5. Does the conclusion bring the reader back to a thesis-

level view of the subject and reinforce the definition?

Occasionally, employees will be asked to write (or to update) their job

descriptions so that management will have a clear idea of what

everyone does. Invariably, these employees find that their jobs are

much more complex than they ever imagined.

When you write a job description, you are, in essence, writing a
definition of that job. You may support that definition with specific

examples of the tasks that you perform on the job.

Write a job description of the job you now hold or the job you aspire to.
