               Solution:


               Firstly we calculate the total current supplied by the battery by determining

               the equivalent resistance of the circuit across terminals AB. The total
               resistance of the circuit is calculated by successively reducing the circuit as
               shown in Fig. 2.140.

               Working backwards, the branch currents are calculated. If total current
