            “It’s all about eyeballs.” Nicki Jensen is PRIDE Systems’ new marketing
            director, and she’s exploring ways to generate revenue from clicks on online
            ads. Zev Friedman, PRIDE Systems’ new owner, asked her to do so in their last
            meeting (page 251).
               “What do you mean?” James Wu is PRIDE’s manager of information
            systems. He was with the company when it was owned by Dr. Flores. When
            Friedman bought the company, he brought James along.
               “I mean, the number of eyeballs we get to look at our ads,” Nicki responds.
               “Well, not quite. It’s about clicks, too.” Michele Wilson is PRIDE Systems’
            new sales director. Her job is to ask vendors to sign up for ads for display on
            PRIDE’s competitions and events.
               Nicki looks at James. “We get as many eyes to look at our ads as we can.
            Then we motivate them to click.”
               She continues, “So how many people can we get into a virtual race?
            When we have the cloud connecting the data, we can get people
            spinning from their homes, their health clubs, wherever, worldwide, to race
            against each other.”
               Michele jumps in. “It could be 10,000 at one time, no?” She’s looking for
            something to sell to vendors.
               James shakes his head. “Maybe so, but we’re getting way ahead of
            ourselves. PRIDE was designed to support eight to twelve people in an exercise
