Page 20 - Pearls of Perception (eBook)
P. 20
If that's true, then why are we, as humankind, trying so hard to
achieve this God-like quality? Why do we put ourselves through so
many trials, why do we judge ourselves so harshly? To whom do we
have to pay our dues, if not ultimately to our own essence (God)?
Who else is more worthy of our attention, who else deserves our
involvement more?
The fashion industry, according to which perfection’s trapped be-
tween bodily dimensions? The scientific community, that uses IQs to
draw lines and divide? Or maybe the government, in whose eyes
perfection is a tax paid at term?
Haha, what a joke!
Can you not see the farce of it all?
Drop this play, stop the pretence. Didn't you get tired of this dance
whose practised steps keep you entranced? To hell with them all, it's
time to put an end to this grotesque show.
Erase the boundaries you've set for yourself. Set fire to the garments
that give you social acceptance. Get on your head and spin around,
Make a fool of yourself, and for heaven's sake, laugh out loud.
Perfection?
More like detention.
Imperfection?
Embrace it now and you may still have a shot at redemption.
