Drop The Effort
I was playing this game the other day, called Slither. It’s an online
multiplayer game in which you control a snake that has to eat other
snakes in order to grow bigger. What I noticed was that when I was
playing casually, my moves were sloppy and careless. But when I
aimed to be the biggest of that session, my brain started to search for
ways in which I could achieve that. In a split of a second, my senses
got keener and my intellect got sharpened, just like that.
At first, it may sound as an obvious fact. But at a second glance, it
actually uncovers something that can have a powerful impact on our
lives. According to popular belief, if you want to achieve something,
you have to do a lot of effort. You must strive and give your best in
order to outrun the rest. Yet, as this simple game revealed to me, the
most important thing is not to make the effort, but to aspire to
something. If you aspire, if you aim for something, the necessary
means will come to your aid.
