in a while. And if it hasn't happened for you yet, you aren't being
honest.
For sure that there are one or two religions that might have a lot to
say about human beings and enjoyment. And it's equally certain that
there are also a couple of wild youngsters that would gladly impose
their view on it too.
But, as with any matter in this life, the wisest path to walk on is that
which dwells in equilibrium: the middle path. By avoiding the ex-
tremes, our exploration of addiction and its mechanisms takes us to a
lightly blurred out border: the one between pleasure and pain. You
see, our bodies carry around way more intelligence than we usually
credit them with. They know the difference between pleasure and
pain quite clearly, and thus, serve as wonderful indicators of where
and when we should stop. It's our bodies that we should first refer-
ence in finding out the difference between where the "guilty pleas-
ure" ends and where discomfort begins. You might have heard of this
awesome feature, under the name of "common sense".
Now that you know how to identify a harmful addiction, a natural
question comes up as consequence: What to do about it?
Do absolutely nothing.
That's right, do absolutely nothing. Simply because anything you at-
tempt, it's only going to make it worse. Remember, the reason you've
got a harmful addiction on your hands in the first place, it's because
at some point you realized it was hurting you, and you started
fighting with it. It's pointless, you'll never win. You'll never overcome
it, for ultimately, it is yourself. And you cannot overcome yourself. It
