Die Before You Die (so you can truly live)
Everybody is going somewhere, all the time.
I noticed it when I was sitting on the docks, watching people walk,
run, ride a bike by. And I don't mean going somewhere in a physical
sense because that's already obvious. No, I mean psychologically
going somewhere, as in 'with their mind'. Even though their body is
present, their mind is not. So they can walk like this, completely
oblivious to their wandering, like for days, and months, and years,
and some even for a lifetime.
While life dances around in its most playful of ways, painting the
boundless canvas of space with its compelling love and grace, they
remain unaware.
Caught in an unending stream of thoughts, they leave no room for
Presence to sneak in-between - even if it does, sometimes, sneak in.
It does so in the most unexpected of moments and in the most unex-
pected of ways, mostly going unnoticed, usually being ignored.
We all had that kind of moments: brief gaps in time, drops of grace
