AJ Catanzaro is trying his hand in the 450 SX class full time this year. He has raced a few rounds on a 450 in the past while the 250 series he was in was on break but this year it’s all 450 for
Catanzaro. He is coming off three solid seasons in the 250 East coast series where he was able to earn four top 10s, two of those being top 5 finishes. The rider from the New England region is no stranger to mixing it up with the top dogs in the 250 class and that experience is going to be key for him in the 450 class. Despite racing the 450 this year, Catanzaro jumped into the season midway through with a tough 21st place finish in Atlanta and a failure to qualify at the whooped out and rough Daytona. But it all turned around in Toronto last weekend when Catanzaro got out to a good start resulting in a 450 career high 15th place finish. It was a nice jolt confidence he needs to consistently be battling inside that top 15.
