AUCTION TIPS, RULES AND ADVICE
1. Bidding by Mail: Bidding is fun and easy. Fill in the bid sheet provided in the auction
package. Be sure to include your Bidder Number at the top right corner of your Bid Sheet,
the Item Number, and Item Description.
Bids must be placed in whole dollar amounts. Minimum bid for all items is $25.
Bid sheets must be received prior to the closing date, so be sure to mail them at least one
week prior to the close of the auction. Bids postmarked beyond that date and received after
the auction is closed will not be honored.
You may also FAX your bids to (510) 489-4516 until FRIDAY, May 5th, 2017. On closing
day, SATURDAY, May 6th, the fax line will be converted to a phone line and no faxes will be
accepted. After mailing or faxing your initial bids, you may call and check on your bids as
often as you wish.
If you expect to pay for your items by credit card, please fill out the credit card information
section on the bottom of your bid sheet.
2. Bidding by Telephone: After you have mailed/faxed in your initial bid, you may call to
check the status of your bid. If you are not the high bidder and would like to raise your bid,
you may do so over the telephone. Please have your bid # and the item # ready when you
call. ON CLOSING DAY ONLY, two additional lines will be added for your convenience. The
phone lines are:
(510) 489-4516 - Line 1 - main phone line and fax line.
(510) 415-8726 - Line 2 - additional line on CLOSING DAY ONLY.
(510) 952-9550 - Line 3 - additional line on CLOSING DAY ONLY.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO BEND THE RULES FOR YOU AS I HAVE TO BE FAIR TO
ALL. If you do not have a SIGNED bid sheet on file, you CANNOT bid. I send the book out in
plenty of time for you to get your bid sheet faxed or mailed weeks before the auction closes.
3. Emails: You may email any bid increases to sandiholder@gmail.com only after your signed
bid sheet has been received. Please check often on your bids, as they can change quickly
and often. On closing day, NO email increases will be honored, you must call in any
increases on bids as we will not have the time to answer emails.
4. Raising Your Bids: You may raise your bid at any time during the auction to maintain high
bid status. Bids must be increased by at least 5%. For example, if the high bid on an item is
$25, you must bid $26 or more. Once again, you may raise your bids by telephone, email or
fax. All raised bids will be rounded up to the nearest dollar.
5. “UP TO” Bids: If you are unable to check on the status of your bids (especially closing day),
I will execute bids for you. Complete the “Up To Bid” column on your bid sheet with the
highest amount that you are willing to spend for that item. I will automatically raise your bid
by 5% any time you are outbid. This will continue only as necessary until you are either the
