                     Strategic Plan – 2023-2024

The 2023 strategic plan for the Kishwaukee Education Consortium is
our third strategic plan, with the first one being released in the fall of
2010. At that time, we put together a framework of initiatives that

have worked as a road map for our successes over the last fourteen
years. During the duration of our first strategic plan, our alternative
education program has maintained a 93% success rate, and our career

and technical program has seen an increase in course offerings and a
substantial jump in dual credit opportunities, with college credit

being offered with our great partners at Kishwaukee College,
Waubonsee Community College and Rock Valley College. Career and
technical education is an integral part of our society and is gaining

momentum in its recognition as a necessity in the educational
process, as it provides a strong base of people that are educated,
skilled, and career ready to enter the workforce. KEC is a unique

entity as we have both an alternative education program as well as
our career and technical education program. Organizing strategies to
be successful in both programs was a fundamental necessity. It is our

philosophy that an organization must continually evolve in order to
become the best it can be. Whether it is keeping up with current

technology trends or learning from our peers in education, we feel
that we cannot grow unless we change. This strategic plan has a nice
mix of continued practices and creative new objectives that we feel
will help us reach our goals in both programs for the next five years.

We want to give a special thanks to the Kishwaukee Education

Consortium Board for their commitment to career and technical
education and alternative education, as well as to our community
college partners and our business and industry partners for their

continual support of our programs in all our efforts to help students in
                       our communities become college-and career-ready.

                                                                           Tom Crouch, Executive Director
                                                                      Kishwaukee Education Consortium
