2.1.4 Modals of Obligation





                                          There are three main  verbs for obligations
                                          which are MUST, HAVE TO and SHOULD











                                MUST is often used for personal obligations

                                whereas HAVE TO is more to general obligations.







                                    For no obligations, modal verbs that are commonly
                                    used are don’t have to, must not, should not and

                                    ought to.









                  Examples:
                  1.  You must  stop now.


                  2.  You have to follow the schedule.










                                                                            Keep in mind that the

                                                                            verb ‘must’ only exists
                                                                            in the simple present
                                                                            and present perfect

                                                                            forms.
