Beers with our Founding Fathers
Like immigration and labor, our Country is a melting pot of
persons of different personal and class characteristics. We cannot
and should not change the person, we are all who we are and
change can only come from within. We can change how we address
the relevant issues of bigotry by first dissolving those that promote
it as a means to keep the historical wounds fresh. Those changes
also only come from within. Those that wish to remain bigots have
personal characteristics that are not representative of their class
characteristics. When you hear a pundit speak of how a race acts or
reacts to an issue, or asks how a race will be affected, that is bigotry.
The same holds true of taxes and other issues of this work. Equality
only works one way – it is not synonymous with fair, but is
synonymous with proportionate. We may not reach fairness as a
Country, I submit it is impossible as long as humans exist simply due
to the individual characteristics we all have. Proportionate is always
attainable and is not based on any individual or class characteristic,
but is instead based on the collective.
We are all created equal, and our Country provides – more than
any other – equal opportunities; that is why so many endeavor to
come here by whatever means possible. Personal traits aside, as
individuals we cannot all be equal. We can all equalize by
proportion.
