                           Management control





               1.1  Introduction to control

               An underlying feature of the relationship between managers and their subordinates is
               management control. Most definitions of management include control as a key
               function; it is essentially a means of ensuring that the objectives of the organisations
               are met. One definition of control is as follows:


                             Control is a primary task and is the process of ensuring the
                             operations proceed according to plan.
