                           Relationship marketing




                               Relationship marketing is about forming long-term relationships
                               with customers, fostering customer loyalty by providing exemplary
                               products or services.



                               Transaction marketing, in contrast, places little effort on getting to
                               know the customer and on customer retention.  Instead, it
                               concentrates on the individual product and the quality of that
                               product.
