                           Human resource planning (HRP)





                               A human resource plan is a 3-5 year plan which aims to close the
                               gap between the demand for labour and the supply of labour within
                               the organisation.


               The stages are as follows:

                                        1. Strategic analysis to understand
                                                       HR needs



                                         2. Internal analysis to establish the
                                         number and skills of existing staff



                                           3. Identification of gap between
                                                 supply and demand




                                        4. Put plans in place to close the gap



                                                       5. Review
