               Current trends and issues should be considered for effective HRM.  For example:


                    Quotas for a minimum percentage representation by women on the board.

                    Embracing the skills and experience of the older employee.

                    Social expectations, e.g. regarding the living wage or zero hours contracts.

                    Impact of performance improvement strategies, such as BPR, on HR.


                    Rapid pace of technological change – employees should embrace technology
                     and follow the organisation’s IT code of conduct.
