DIVIDENDS

• From 1 april 2012 - dividends tax levied on dividends

Dividend subject to dividends tax:

Section 64d:
As defined
• Dividend paid by a resident co in s1

• Divided paid by a foreign co if shares are listed on JSE to the

extent that it does not consist a distribution of an asset in specie

(only cash dividends)

• Foreign dividends – dividends tax n/a if it is a dividend in specie
