I attach for your attention an email I have just received from the FD.

I do agree with him and we do need to have a clear responsibility for risk management and a
robust process in place. Things are changing fast and we need to be sure we can react accordingly.
This is also likely to entail changes to procedures. We will need to be sure that the need for these
changes is fully understood by all those affected.

I need to advise him of our views in advance of the next board meeting and would like your help.
Can you prepare some briefing notes on how Crowncare could improve its risk management
process?

Whilst you are considering that, how might we manage changes with introducing the new process
and potentially a new department?
