                  We would also lose control over that part of the process and the loss of the in‐house expertise
                  could make it very difficult to re‐establish that activity within the company in the future. In the
                  longer term this could therefore significantly affect costs as we become reliant on the outsourcer.

                  Similar arguments can be put forward for insourcing, with recent consultant’s reports indicating
                  that dental practice companies might vertically integrate by buying/building their own dental
                  laboratories.  This would clearly cut out delays in the supply chain, improve reliability and quality
                  but would require significant investment in the short term. Similarly Crowncare would also have
                  to recruit specialist teams to manage such a function as we have n experience of this function
                  currently.
