affairs and personal belongings over the next 2 weeks. There is no way I could
have done it all without the help of my sister and brother. Together, we toughed

it out and laughed and cried as we put mom to rest.

Her passing reminded my how fragile life can be and how lucky we are to have

our health. It is true when they say each day is a gift to be shared and embraced.
Shortly after the New Year, the 3 other minority partners and I were speaking

with each other, wondering why the owners had not wrapped up the Partnership

Agreements before year’s end. It seemed very strange.

Within days of those conversations, the third shoe dropped.

The four of us were located all across the country - me in NJ/NY and the others in
Boston, San Francisco, and Atlanta. Together, we had brought in over $2.5 million
dollars in recurring revenue to the firm in the first 10 months of opening our

doors. Then one morning each of us got a call. We were all fired immediately and
were to meet with company representatives that day in each of our cities to turn

               over all company property.

Talk about a kick in the balls.

It was the last straw. I had spent the past 18 years making millions for others as
an employee or minority shareholder. My mom had just died. I almost got killed

that prior summer and I was turning 41 in a few weeks.

The story ends in Dallas, where Bob and I first met at a marketing conference
around that same time. After months of discussions over breakfast and other

back of a placemat, he and I framed out what would become Profit Partners LLC.

I went from making over $200,000 per year plus bonuses, to taking no salary for
the first 9 months. I had always been a good saver and it was time to make my

               wisest financial invest to date.

I invested in me. My future destiny would no longer be decided by corporate or
political hacks. If I didn’t do it then - I would never have the guts to do it later in

               life.

Bob and I have never regretted that decision. He and I have done very well for our
families over the past 13+ years. 2017 marks a new year and the next phase of
