an answer for whatever question you asked her, forget that it was, always the
same answer, “Trust in God Always”, that was her answer to any question you
would propose to her. The exception was when Regina asked Sister Maxine
where Sister Teresa went. Sister Maxine looked at Regina with her head tilted
up, eyes close and spoke in the sounds of ecstasy, she went to her body and
soul Sister Maxine replied. Some of the best advice that Sister Maxine, had
ever given to Regina was to trust always in God, she remembered, Sister
Maxine telling her that even when things are tough or unclear he knows that
in life we excel as real human beings on different levels! One person may
excel in life at the married level, for some it is a religious level. What is
important is that we chose the level of life in which we can be happy (because
God wants us to be happy!) to excel and become the best at what we can be.
Regina remembered thinking to herself that Sister Maxine had become the
best that she could become.
Up to that point she had always viewed the sisters as being a little out there,
they didn’t wear fashionable clothes, did not have sex, no this no that, they
always seemed to have stuff they were holding inside of them and could not
let it out. How could anybody in their right minds live that way, but that was
not the case with Sister Maxine, even though she wore the same nun habits
and accessories, her ensembles always seemed to be jazzier. Her hair was
always together, even her eye glasses were designers she had a religious
sex appeal to her, which was missing from all the other nuns at the school. At
that moment it hit her, Trust in God Always, because through him all is
possible. You can be called by God and become a nun and still be jazzy, just
because you were into your faith you did not have to look boring. Regina had
a new profound appreciation for Sister Maxine after their brief but powerful
