and those experienced lifesavers who have joined us from other clubs, welcome and thank you.
It feels wonderful to have people joining us, however sadly we also have members leave
and this season saw the lifesaving ranks at Sunshine depleted when some true club legends moved away. Bill and Lyn Twigger, along with my predecessor Scott Summers, thanks for all you have done for the club, we miss you, wish you the best and hope to see you soon.
We couldn’t develop new Lifesavers and keep our existing members proficient in their skills without our amazing group of trainers. Headed up by our Chief Training Officer Doug Gould; the team of Natalie McMaster, Jane Fraser, Lisa Worthington, and Heidi Farquharson-Selby workedhardand adaptedincrediblytothe new Covid training world and delivered some very successful courses. Despite some concerns and uncertainty preseason due to Covid, we have been fortunate to have a, more or less, normal patrolling season. All our patrolling members showed great flexibility and understanding when changes and a couple of minor Covid events happened in Queensland. Patrolling is made easier by having the right equipment is good condition. I would like to say a huge thank you to all sponsors who assist the club by providing either the equipment we need, or the funds to source it. A special and enormous thank you to The Norris Group, your generosity, once again makes so much difference.

Working with the Club’s Board of Directors this season has been an honour. Thank you to Johnny, Mel, Yvette, Pricey, Sophie, Lyn, Riley, Hamish and Ross for making me feel a welcome part of the Board. On behalf of the lifesaving cohort I thank you for your time, passion and commitment. Thank you also to Michelle Burnett, your encyclopaedic knowledge has been such a help to me in my first season as Club Captain
Maryanne Long for keeping our first aid equipment in order and everyone else who gives up some extra time to keep our downstairs area in order.
Our new club is a great place to be a part of. I would like to ask all Active Members to reach out to any local friends who may be interested in joining and red and yellow team, we would love to welcome even more new Bronzies this coming season and will be offering plenty of training opportunities.
