CHRISTMAS DINNER AT THE RED LION
IT WAS ANOTHER sell-out event for
                 London, Southern and Eastern Section’s
                 Christmas walk.
Ahead of this year’s walk, some of the
group met up for pre-drinks at the Red
Lion in the capital’s Parliament Street,
famously the haunt of every British UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE AT

                  IRELAND GETS BEHIND HYDROGEN

By James McStravóg, Irish Section Chair

IN NOVEMBER, the Irish Section interests of the audience and hopefully
held a paper evening in Belfast, this will lead to further discussion.
in collaboration with the Pipeline These events demonstrated that the
Industries Guild (PIG) to provide an natural gas industry has a fantastic
update on developments within the and very exciting future ahead of it as
natural gas industry to utilise hydrogen. we all seek to meet the government’s
Philip Brain, from KIWA, and ambitious commitment to climate
Corin Taylor, from DNV GL, gave action by driving decarbonisation.
an excellent overview of the work
completed to date and the many
                   ongoing projects and experiments that
                   they are currently involved in.
In December, we followed this up
with a second paper evening in Cork,
also in collaboration with PIG. Philip
was this time joined by John Beirne,
from Ervia, to deliver the presentations.
Each of the presentations across the
two events succeeded in piquing the PRESENTATIONS IN BELFAST
