What is Free Look Cancellation?

There have been several service issue complaints by the policy

holder that the policy they opted for is not the same one they

have received or date of birth is wrong. This has prompted the

regulator(s) to offer a free look period. This essentially means,

cancellation of a life insurance policy within 15 days (30 days if

sold by distance mode) from the date of receipt of the policy

document if one disagrees with any of the terms or conditions in

the policy is called a free look cancellation.

There are conditions applicable:

 This applies primarily to Life insurance policies and

 To Health insurance policy that are for a term of at least 3

years

One can exercise this option within 15 days of receiving the

policy document

 One has to communicate to the company in writing

 The premium refund will be adjusted for
