 Intramolecular Bonding
INTRAMOLECULAR BONDING: Bonding to create a compound
There are three types of intramolecular bonding:
1. IONIC: Valence electrons are transferred from one
atom to another (metals and nonmetals).
2. COVALENT: Valence electrons are shared between
atoms (nonmetals).
3. METALLIC: Valence electrons are mobile within a
metal (metals).
There are many Regents question on ionic and covalent bonding.
Let’s learn about all of these types of bonding.
