                                                       АНГЛИ ХУРААНГУЙ
RESULTS OF THE STUDY ON PREPARATION AND EVALUTION OF AN

ANTIGEN OF ELISA FOR DIAGNOSIS OF CONTAGIOUS AGALACTIA
                                                          G. Ulziisaikhan

Contagious agalactia is an infectious disease of sheep and goats, which has
been known since 1800. Main causative agent of this infection is M.agalactiae.

Contagious agalactia broadly spread out in Europe, Asia, North America. It mainly

occurs in countries where mostly breeding small ruminants, particularly in France,
Holland, Austria, Hungary, Greece, Syria, Iran, Mongolia and other countries.

Contigiousagalactiae of small ruminants has clear clinical symptoms, which
are allows easily diagnose it by clinical signs, but veterinarians must have a

sensitive and specific diagnostic tools to diagnose it. For the diagnosis of this
infection broadly using the compliment fixation test and enzyme-linked

immunosorbent assay. I Mongolia, there is no single serological test developed and

applied to the veterinary practice. Therefore, in this study we worked on the
preparation of protein antigen for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and

evaluation it’s sensitivity and specifity using.
Contagious agalactia of small ruminants are endemic infection in Mongolia

and it has been registered in the Westren and Central regions of country, which is

causing a huge loss to the economy. The official disease reports of the
Governmental Implementation Agence-Department of Veterinary and Animal

Breeding of Mongolia during the last 10 years had been registered this infection in 10
Aimags and in this area had infected more than 68000 animals .

                            Overall goal of this study:

The present study aimed to develop an antigen for enzyme-linked
immunosorbent assay and evaluation it’s sensitivity and specificity

                            Objective of this study:
In order to accomplish overall goal, the below mentioned objectivies were put

                     forward. These are as follows:
                            1. To isolate causative local agents of contagious agalactia of small

                                ruminants in Mongolia
