David Strickland

Biography
David Strickland (“Dave”) is vice president of the Northwest Business Information Office. In this role, Dave directs the strategic planning, leadership and oversight for Information Technology teams supporting our Kaiser Permanente hospitals and business functions in Northwest.
Dave’s ability to delivers results within a highly matrixed structure was key to his ability to successfully lead the electronic health record implementation for Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center. Since that time, he has applied his experience across various disciplines, including strategy, change management, financial forecasting and modeling, program management, and HIEs (Health Information Exchanges). Prior to his role in the Northwest, Dave has served in various project management and executive roles with the Southern California region. In these roles, Dave had direct accountability over many strategic business and technology initiatives across the region while also contributing to the work of several national efforts.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2006, Dave was an established leader of Information Technology teams at Countrywide Securities Corporation and Green Mountain Energy, spanning the energy, financial services, and hospital/health care industries.
His previous experience includes developing SDLCs and change management processes to support fixed-income security trading. Dave is also highly skilled in coordinating business continuity and disaster recovery planning in large organizations.
Dave and his wife, Kirstin, have three children in elementary school who are excited to explore the Northwest. Outside of the office, Dave enjoys playing and coaching soccer. He also loves bookstores and looks forward to getting lost again in Powell’s soon (preferably after a meal).
The Care Delivery Technology Services (CDTS) NW group is the front door to all IT products and services delivered for the KP NW region. CDTS NW serves as the primary point of contact across the Business Partnership portfolios (Corporate Services, Care Delivery, and Health Plan Operations) and is accountable for understanding the regional strategic direction and priorities. While different roles within KP IT become involved with project solutions and delivery, CDTS-NW assumes overall accountability and ensures delivery of IT solutions and services for the Northwest region.
CDTS-NW leaders and their teams support and oversee medical center IT operations, IT projects in the region, IT strategic planning alignment with the regional business goals, as well as facilitate systems transition, business relationships, investment decision making, and other IT governance activities.
