Karen Ford
Executive Director
Biography
Karen Ford serves as the Executive Director of Portfolio Operations and Chief of Staff for CDTS within Kaiser Permanente Information Technology. Karen joined Kaiser Permanente in 2003 to lead the KP HealthConnect® National Training team. In this role, she capitalized on her strong project and program management background in the eLearning and adult education industries to lead this important function. Karen’s role then expanded on the KP HealthConnect program, to also serve as the national implementation manager. In this expanded role, she supported the Epic HER deployment in the Colorado region. Once KP HealthConnect was fully deployed, Karen assumed a portfolio operations leadership role in the Care Delivery BIO, now CDTS.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Karen served as Vice President of Professional Services for Convene, Inc., a small software development and services firm specializing in eLearning, collaboration and performance support. At Convene, Karen led the company’s consulting practice, instructional design services, end user training and technical support operations. She also had responsibility for the development and implementation of custom web-based learning solutions and learning portals.
Prior to Convene, Inc., Karen worked for the University of Phoenix Online Campus, where she served as interim director & manager of Information Systems and Operations. In this
