Lesson P:lan
With all the children sitting on the carpet in front of the teacher
1. Hold up a picture of Georgia the Shetland Pony
2. “Do you remember who this is?”
3. Allow the children to answer “it's a pony, it is Georgia the Shetland Pony.” 4. “Yes, that is right, it is Georgia the Shetland Pony. What can you
remember about Georgia the Shetland Pony?”
5. Allow the children to answer “she is short, lives on a farm, stands on grass,
has a big round tummy and turns over in mud”.
6. “I want to teach you something new about Georgia the Shetland Pony today. She has a special movement like Harriet the Cow. Do you think we can
all stand up so I can show you Georgia the Shetland Pony’s movement?”
7. Allow the children time to stand up.
8. “Now are we all standing. Let’s draw ourselves a big round tummy?”
Demonstrate the movement and have the children copy you. “Great, I can see we all have a bit round tummy, but can you remember what Georgia the Shetland Pony also likes to do?”
9. Allow the children to answer “roll around, or turn around”.
10. “Yes, she likes to turn around. So let’s draw our big round tummies and
turn around.” Demonstrate the movement.
11. “This is Georgia the Shetland Pony’s movement. So when I show you Georgia the
the Shetland Pony, I would like you to show me her movement.” 12. “Shall we have a practice? Everyone stand normally.” Show the
picture of Georgia the Shetland Pony again.
13. Allow the children to show you the movement.
14. “Brilliant, well done everyone. Tomorrow we will see Georgia the Shetland
