Module 2: Getting Ready for Writing Teacher’s Guide.
   Objective: Tracing around the lines
   Lesson Plan:
Applying hand-eye coordination skills to trace over the boundaries of a picture.
1. On a table provide the children with a copy of page 54 - 63 from the Activities Manual or off a page from IWB241-245 from the IWB programme and a selection of colouring tools.
2. Demonstrate and explain to the children that they are expected to make the outline of the picture darker by tracing over the top of the line.
3. The children can then complete the worksheet independently.
4. The children can then colour the pictures at the end.
More to Learn:
1. Staying ‘on the line’ is an important aspect
of handwriting. The children can take some time to master this.
A tracing activity offers the children the opportunity to learn how to use their vision, hands and motor control together at the same time.
2. Straight or simple lines are easier to control than detailed curved lines.
