Performing Arts Electives

Students can complete a pathway in Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Dance or Theater by taking any combination of
three courses in each concentrated area.

BAND
Band*: Band offers a variety of course levels including Beginning Concert Band, Intermediate Symphonic Band,
Advanced Symphonic Winds, and Mastery Wind Ensemble.
*Teacher approval required.

ORCHESTRA
Orchestra* Orchestra offers a variety of course levels to students who have experience with violin, viola, cello, or
double-bass. Offerings include the Freshman Concert Orchestra, Two Intermediate Symphonic Orchestras, Advanced
Philharmonic Orchestra, and Mastery Chamber Ensemble.
*Teacher approval required.

CHORUS
Chorus*: Chorus offers a variety of course levels including Intermediate, Advanced, or Mastery Chorus. Chorus
requires evening and after school rehearsals and concerts as well as a uniform.
*Beginning Chorus is open to any student new to chorus
**Teacher approval required for all other levels

DANCE
Dance*: Dance offers a variety of course levels including Modern Dance I-IV, Dance I-IV, Ballet I-IV, Jazz I-IV, or
Dance Composition.
*An audition is required for placement into dance. Auditions for 2022-2023 will take place on Feb. 15, 2022; 2:30-4:00
pm for all current MCHS students.
