Visual Arts Electives




  Visual Art Comp I/II (2D/3D Art): This is a beginning level art class and pre-requisite for all advanced art classes.
  Develop two-dimensional art skills (drawing, painting, and design) and three-dimensional art skills (pottery,
  sculpture, and mixed media).


  Drawing & Painting I / II*: This is an advanced art course exploring a variety of drawing, painting, and
  printmaking techniques in a range of materials, styles, and subject matter.
  *Prerequisite: Successful completion of Visual Art Comp I/II and teacher approval are required.


  Graphics I / II*: This is an advanced art course focusing on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create a variety of
  computer-based artwork and designs.
  *Prerequisite: Successful completion of Visual Art Comp I/II and teacher approval are required.


  Photography I / II*: This is an advanced art course exploring digital and film photography, including the use of
  Photoshop and a traditional darkroom. A camera is required.
  *Prerequisite: Successful completion of Visual Art Comp I/II and teacher approval are required.

  Sculpture I/II: This is an advanced art course where students develop their skills using clay and a variety of
  three-dimensional materials. Students will learn advanced hand-building and pottery wheel throwing techniques.
  *Prerequisite: Successful completion of Visual Art Comp I/II and teacher approval are required.

  AP Drawing/AP 2D Art & Design*: The submission of a portfolio is required. Works could include graphic design,
  typography, digital imaging, photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, and more.
  *Prerequisite: Successful completion of Visual Art Comp I/II and completion of either Drawing Painting I,
  Graphics I, or Photography I and teacher approval are required.

  AP 3D Art & Design*: The submission of a portfolio is required. Works should include a body of 3D artwork
  including pottery and sculpture.
  *Prerequisite: Successful completion of Visual Art Comp I/II and Sculpture I and teacher approval are
  required.
