CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION ELECTIVES







  Intro to Digital Technology: This course is designed for students to understand, communicate, and adapt to a digital
  world as it impacts their personal life, society, and the business world. Exposure to foundational knowledge in
  hardware, software, programming, web design, IT support, and networks are all taught in a computer lab with hands-
  on activities and project focused tasks. Students will not only understand the concepts but apply their knowledge to
  situations and defend their actions/decisions/choices through the knowledge and skills acquired in this course.
  Employability skills are integrated into activities, tasks, and projects throughout the course standards to demonstrate
  the skills required by business and industry. This is the introductory course in the Computer Science, Web
  Development, and Digital & Web Design pathways.


  Paired Web Design & Web Development: 4th Year Science! Can you think of any company that does not have a web
  presence? Taking this course will equip students with the ability to plan, design, and create a website. Students will
  learn to code a website using HTML5 & CSS5 and design a professional-looking website using graphical authoring
  tools that contains multimedia elements. Students will earn two CTE credits upon successful completion of the
  course.
  *Prerequisite: Successful Completion of Intro to Digital Technology, OR Digital Design, OR AP Computer
  Science Principles is required.
  Web Design isn’t a 4th Year Science, but Web Development is - because they will receive both credits, they will get
  the science credit.
