Peggy Duker Chabala Celebrates 90 Birthday

Peggy Duker Chabala, retired first Fraternal
Director of the GCU, recently celebrated her 90
th
birthday on December 5, 2024.
Hosted by her daughter Marilyn Bonaparte
and granddaughter Brooke Bonaparte Pingenot,
a catered High Tea Party was held at Marilyn’s
home, where Peggy resides in Prosper, TX.
A gathering of close friends spent an enjoyable
afternoon remembering how and when Peggy’s
newfound acquaintances, upon her move to
Texas eight years ago, became her close friends.
A display chart comparing what events were
relevant in 1934, the year Peggy was born,
compared to the present, provided an interesting
discussion, with plenty of laughs because of Peggy Duker Chabala.

Elsie Urban Celebrated 99 Birthday

Elsie Urban, a long-time parishioner of St. John’s
Cathedral in Munhall, PA recently celebrated her
99 birthday. She and her late husband John, a
th
former GCU Director, were very active members
of the GCU and Cathedral. She enjoyed working
the social functions at the Cathedral Center
tremendously and has many fond memories.
Elsie has been a resident of Logan Place in
Lower Burrell, PA for several years. She keeps
busy with daily activities and receives visits from
numerous local organizations and churches.
Elsie is the mother of GCU National Director &
Vice Chairman of the Board John (Mary Rita) of Elsie Urban.
Rocky River, OH, Marilyn (Sam) Fox of Chapel, PA
and Lori (Joe) Lyons of Louisville, KY. Grandmother of Michael (Camille) of
Rocky River, OH and Ryan (Stephanie) of Glenview, IL. Great grandmother of
Xander, Eliana, Graclyn, Riley, Georgia, Marnie and Brody.
Our mother is a true blessing to all of us.
