"Education is like a lantern which lights your way in a dark
alley”
The scientific and technological advancement of today is a long
forward journey from Stone Age. Each individual has his own
interest’s talents and abilities. Even a progressive syllabus fails to
cater to the needs of each science educators. For exhibiting growing
interest and means of stimulating group participation and
mobilizing interest in learning science, the Science club of Gulf
Indian High School, morning session, organized Science Olympiad
for grades 4 to 12 students in which all the members of science club
participated.
OBJECTIVES
➢ To promote interest in science among students to expose
them to problem solving, critical thinking and
experimentation.
➢ Promote and reward the pursuit of excellence
in Scientific Endeavour. To challenge, stimulate and
encourage gifted students to further develop their talents in
Natural Sciences.
In order to enhance the academic capabilities of the students, the
students participated in Science Olympiad.
Overall the science activities were very exciting as well as was an
educational experience for the students. It helped to identify and
nurture scientists, technologists and other professional talents at
school level. It also helps them to participate in
national/international competitions.
It was wonderful opportunity to develop positive attitude towards
learning and teaching science and also to explore the ways in
which tasks can be designed with appropriate resources to support
collaboration and also innovative challenge. We hope our club
organizes many more events like this to enrich the students’
knowledge by hands-on experience.
