Reading is considered to be one of the most important
academic skills in schools. Being able to read is essential for

students to learn other subjects. For example, students are

required to read directions, word problems, and passages in
textbooks when learning math, science and social studies.

Raz-Kids is an online reading system developed by Learning
A-Z that is used in many international schools around the
world.

Using this system, children have access to:
• Over 1600+ e-books (and increasing) of various

genres and reading levels
• Listening, Reading and Comprehension features for
each book.

• Assignment homework set by their teacher.
• Freedom to choose what books they want to read for
their enjoyment.
• Incentive Program – Students earn stars for the
activities to do. These stars can be used to build

their robot.

Our students of grades 5 to 8 at GIHS found it more

interesting and engage themselves in reading and carrying
out the activities to earn the stars.
