Cobh Pirates RFC took on Charleville RFC last Sunday at home in the Paddocks. The game
was off to a fast start as Charleville made ground inside Pirates 22 but a knock on was called.
From the scrum Pirates used their back line to run through Charlevilles defence, after a num-
ber of phases played, Dave Lambe picked the ball from the back of a ruck securing a try for
Pirates. Charleville came back at Pirates from the restart driving their pack over the try line
to make the score 5-5. Just before the whistle went for half time Charleville secured a penalty
making the half time score Charleville 8 - Pirates 5. In the second half both teams displayed a
tight defence line, Pirates made a number of breaks inside Charlevilles 22 but were unlucky to
not come away with a try. Final score ending Pirates RFC 5 - Charleville RFC 11
Hard luck to the u13s this morning away to Dolphin at Musgrave Park.
After a slow first half...the lads came out fighting in the 2nd half and played some great rugby
and ran in some good scores.
Unfortunately it wasn’t to be their day and Dolphin won out on a 29-15 scoreline.
Pirates RFC J2 took on Dolphin RFC in the Paddocks under lights last night, both teams
displayed a great game of rugby. It was a tight match through the whole 80 minutes, Dolphin
scored two early tries, however, Killian Barry made a break off the back of a scrum running
through Dolphins defence line for a try. Pirates kicked off the second half playing a number of
phases inside Dolphins 22 securing points on the board as penalities were awarded to Pirates,
late in the second half dolphin made a break securing a try to make the final score Pirates RFC
J2 16 - Dolphin RFC 19.

Adults Section believe this lady is worth a word or three.
She has of late been hand-picked to enter the Tokyo Marathon as a semi-elite entrant for the
World Marathon Majors.
An average of 28,000+ eligible semi-elite athletes apply to enter this race annually, one of the
Big 6 World Marathon Majors, (incorporating Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New
York City), with only 3,000 selected from this cream of the crop bunch each year. When she
runs it in the spring, she will have then completed all of the Big 6 World Marathon Majors that
are held across the globe, and have well and truly earned that coveted whopper of a medal.

June Anne in Rushbrooke Tennis Club.....
Last Friday evening a very special and inspirational person within
Irish Tennis visited Rushbrooke Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
June Anne Fitzpatrick was on hand to help club coaches during their
evening junior squads and also participated in a question and an-
swer session with players and parents.
This lady is astonishing as she has recently won a ITF Tennis Mixed
event in the over 85years category!!!!
An evening many of the younger players will remember for a long
time to come.
