I climb and I have a great time, but the crux of
             this climb proves to be more than a little challenging.
             I probably take ten lobbing lead falls. When I finally
             lower back to the ground, my aching, tired hands can
             barely untie the welded knot. If I had selected one of
             those bowline variations, the knot would have been
             untied five minutes ago.
                Because there is no one else at the crag to men-
             tor, because Derek is just as capable of inspecting my




































             In a sport climbing context, this figure 8 follow through
             is going to be difficult to untie if I take repeated falls. Is
             visual clarity a priority for me today?
