                             JUNG GEUN PARK

I repeat certain movements endlessly when I produce an artwork. I build up small amounts of clay
to form a shape, apply color on it repeatedly, and then peel it off repeatedly. ‘Repetition’ is a word
used often when people talk about my work. Through my work, I explore my daily life and that of
the people around me. Daily life and repetitive tasks may sound mundane or boring, but the small
new changes that appear at the end of my work make me want to repeat things again and again.
Through his work, Jung Geun Park seeks to focus on the essence of the process, such as action,
transformation, and the permanence of the work. He wants to communicate with the audience in a
slightly different way, with the naturalness that appears in the process rather than the obviousness
of the result, and the energy hidden therein.
