SOPHIE OH
Sophie Oh creates her works using various materials such as stone powder, clay, glue, ink, sand, oil
paint, watercolor, acrylic paint, and oil pastel to express shape and color on a canvas where figurative
and abstraction coexist. Her works started with Western painting based on realism, and has gradually
evolved crossing the border between reality and abstraction.
“Through my work, I aim to express to you that happiness is something you must discover and
choose at every moment, as well as the importance of purposeful being. I also want to express the
preciousness of our existence, and that enjoying beauty is our right. In my work, I also emphasize the
importance of recognizing individual dignity and freedom.”
