Our Future of Courage, Optimism and Focus
Like the rest of New Zealand, the farming
business landscape is changing and moving
with pace. This may feel faster than ever
before.
We’re fortunate we have strong leaders who
see the opportunities for the industry and
navigate the future with courage, optimism, and
focus. These people are at the core and heart of
DWN, as they have been for the past 23 years.
We celebrate and recognise these Leaders, within DWN and t
the wider industry who step up to the plate committed to learning, leading, and
sharing their wisdom. These women are full of hope. And as Napoleon Bonaparte
said, Leaders are dealers of hope.
The seven powers of hope embody DWN, what we do, and what we stand for.
1. Give people something to believe in, connect effort and sacrifice
2. Be human with aspiration
3. Narrow the focus in a complicated and overwhelming environment
4. Show people they are making a meaningful contribution
5. Believe in people and their potential
6. Share information
7. Create and celebrate small wins. Every challenge made smaller by a series
of small wins
These align to our vision, purpose, and our values. And if the past has taught us
anything, this provides an anchor for DWN in good times and, in challenging
times.
