Understanding
11 Reinforcing a sense of community
Going to work should be an important, enjoyable, stimulating and
fulfilling part of our lives. We believe that our working environments
should be designed so that they feel like a ‘home from home’.
The development of a new campus space as an extention to the
existing is clearly a dramatic opportunity to create a place that can
be an exemplar to demonstrate that a connected and cohesive
community can be nurtured and developed through good design and
effective communication.
We would envisage a campus that, through time, will genuinely
engender a clear and strong sense of identity and community. In
addition to providing the core element that make up the basis of the
place- a flexible and fluid working and R&D space we would need to
provide a framework in which a wider spectrum of support facilities
and services can be effectively introduced on an incremental basis as
demand and scale increase through the phases of implementation.
