On Sunday April 23rd Cadets from Selby Detachment took part in a ceremony at the war memorial in nearby Newland Village. This was to mark the 80th Anniversary of a wartime plane crash near the site, involving the loss
of three of the Bomber crew. Selby’s Cadet Beau Beattie was the Equerry to the King’s Representative who was in attendance. Well done to all who represented the Detachment with such dignity.
 Senior Cadet Instructor Cadre Stainton Training Camp
Cadet Staff Sergeant Natasha Chamberlain of Castleford Detachment and Staff Sergeant Olivia Kennedy of Strensall Detachment. both of B Company, took part in an intensive week long Senior Cadet Instructor Cadre held
at Stainton Camp. Both were successful in passing their cadre and being awarded their SCIC badge. They agreed it was an amazing experience that they would recommend to any Senior Cadet to take part in.

Cadets jump

Netheravon
A group of Cadets from B Company attended a weekend course at the Army Parachute Association in Netheravon in Wiltshire. The Cadets completed their ground training then all went on to complete their solo basic parachute jump successfully. Cadet Sergeant Phoebe Clark described it as ‘surreal but peaceful’ floating alone in the sky. Staff Sergeant Olivia Kennedy said it was the ‘maddest experience, it was amazing as I emerged out of the clouds’!
