Safety Memo #26 (S) Masks and New Quarantine Protocol (COVID-19)

[ Masks and New Quarantine Protocol (COVID-19) ]

[Masks]
Masks must be worn at all times by all on-site personnel, no exceptions. If workers are found not wearing a
mask or not wearing one properly, they must be asked to leave the worksite immediately. ACI employees must
wear a mask when meeting with other employees, subcontractors, and clients. Try to avoid face-to-face
meetings if possible.

ACI Project Teams: If you see a worker without a mask on site
• take a photo of the worker and write down their name
• notify the worker’s employer immediately
• tell the worker they are not allowed back on site until they have a mask and must wear it properly
covering both the mouth and nose

[New Quarantine Protocol]
The mandatory quarantine period has been shortened based on the new CDC update released on December
2, 2020 (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/scientific-brief-options-to-reduce-quarantine.html)

Quarantine can now end:
• on day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring or
• on day 7 after receiving a negative test result and if no symptoms have been reported during daily
monitoring
**Quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than day 7

After stopping or during quarantine, the employee shall
• watch for symptoms for 14 days after exposure
• wear a mask, stay at least 6 feet from others, wash their hands, and avoid crowds
• and if symptomatic, immediately self-isolate and contact their local public health authority or healthcare
provider
