Safety Memo #28 (B) Fire Extinguisher Servicing

[ Fire Extinguisher Servicing ]
If you have more than 5 out-of-service fire extinguishers on your site, you may request to the IT
Department to arrange on-site servicing.
Conditions: An extinguisher (like in the photo below) is acceptable for service if:
1. it is still within the 1-year time frame since the date punched out (photo shows December 2, 2020)
2. the extinguisher is fully charged as indicated by the dial in the green
3. and the pin on the handle has not been pulled off as indicated by the unbroken plastic tie
If any of these 3 criteria are not met, then the fire extinguisher is considered out-of-service and needs to be
replaced or serviced.
