How can it be stronger in the dark? It uses light to lure people in!

I stop moving as I realize something that could help me stop this thing.

There’s no time to think it through before I’m tackled to the ground by the Angler.

It rakes its claws down my chest and I scream as its bloodied eyes bore into my

               own.

My desperation to get away is overwhelming and I weakly claw at its arms

               in attempt to gain leverage.

The bystanders are alarmingly close now, I’m the only thing keeping the

Angler from tearing all of these people apart. And I’m doing it by being torn apart.

“Please.” I send up a pitiful prayer for my logic based off of a children’s

movie to be sound and I do something I have never even thought of attempting

               before.

I close my eyes and banish the shadows from this area, as far as I can

without completely burning myself out. I force every nook and cranny to be light

by pushing out all the darkness.

There are screams all around me, the most prominent of which is the

Angler’s. I cry out when the monster goes limp on top of me. The darkness is

creeping back to the park now and I let it. The Angler has no reaction as I push it

off of me and stand beside it. I think it’s dead, but I need to make sure. Creating a

blade of shadows once more, I plunge it into the Angler’s eye. As its body begins

to diffuse into sludge and its light fades, the people around me start murmuring in

               confusion.

I limp as quickly as I can away from the crowd, having no desire to explain
               what happened.

Carefully, I dodge around Meagan, trying not to look at her as her eyes bore
into the side of my head. She opens her mouth hesitantly, before closing it again

and offering me a weak smile. I sigh and allow the shadows around my face-the
