4.4.2 Letter of enquiry:

       The noun enquiry is a British spelling of "inquiry". This
word refers to the act of asking questions to get information, or
the question that you ask to get the information you need.

       The letter of enquiry is a formal letter, which can be
written to request more information or ask for something. It is
utilised as a way to enquire and get details about something that
someone wants to have further knowledge about. In other words,
it is the letter, which is written to enquire about specific
information related to something.

       The letter of enquiry can be sent either by post or e-mail
on behalf of an individual or an organisation for their own
respective purposes. It serves to make business operations
possible and easier to achieve satisfaction of its sender. These
letters save time and can remove any misunderstanding.

       The letter of enquiry can be written for many purposes i.e.
it can be sent, for instance, if someone wants to:

   a- Buy a specific item and wants to have more information
       about it before buying it.

   b- Ask for a job vacancy and its have more information about
       its advantages.

   c- Ask for a scholarship or grant and how to apply for it.
   d- Ask for a price e.g. a ticket's fare, a hotel room's cost.
